Hello,
Sorry that I don't write in French
We'd like to visit Vignemale area next weekend. I see that the wather is rather bad. Is there a lot of snow on the normal route to Vignemale?
I read on the site of Refuge de Baysellance, that the route from Gavarnie to the Refuge is closed (I'm not sure if I have understood it correctly) . Is it really closed - what does it mean?
from village of Gavarnie, there is a little road till start of patway (at Ossoue lake).
In winter, this road is closed due to snow and avalanches. If the road is still closed, this means there is too much snow on the road.
You can access Vignemale by another way : from village of Cauterets, which is the normal road with snow. First day to reach refuge of Oulettes or better, refuge of Bayssellance. Second day to clim the peak and come back.
